Caid Jones (CalArts MFA ’17) has been taking piano lessons since he was 6 years old and violin lessons since he was 9 years old. He’s studied a multitude of styles on both instruments, focusing on classical performance as well as American improvisational music (Jazz, Blues, Swing, Bluegrass, Celtic, Etc). He holds 2 degrees from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) – both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Instrumental Performance with violin as his primary instrument and piano as his secondary. He has competed on a regional and national level in Oldtime American fiddling since he was 13 years old. Caid Jones has a passion for teaching, always studying and learning as much as he can to help his students achieve their fullest potential. In his 12 years of teaching, he has held over 10,000 lessons, helping students to find and develop their creativity and instrumental mastery.
